Help & safety
Plans? helps you meet people you may not know yet. We don’t verify members, so a little care goes a long way: trust your instincts and do what feels right for you.
In an emergency
These lines are free to call from any Kenyan network, day or night.
Police, fire and ambulance
Kenya’s national emergency numbers. 911 also works.
Gender-based violence helpline
Free, confidential support, 24 hours a day. Run by Healthcare Assistance Kenya with the State Department for Gender Affairs.
Kenya Red Cross
Ambulance and emergency counselling, 24 hours a day.
- Meet in a public place when you can.
- Tell someone you trust where you’re going.
- Keep your phone number and address to yourself until you choose otherwise.
- Use the plan chat to coordinate — that’s what it’s for.
- Plans? isn’t a dating app. If someone’s attention makes you uncomfortable, you can leave and report them.
- If it doesn’t feel right, leave the plan. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
- If something concerns you, report it. We review every report.
- If you’re in danger, call 999 or 112 straight away.
You can report a plan, someone on it, or a chat message. Open the plan, then report from there. Reports stay private.
Changed your mind? Leave from the plan page; no one is notified of a reason. If you’re hosting and can’t make it, cancel the plan so everyone going knows.
